Little Bird Finds Christmas by Marianne Richmond

Title: Little Bird Finds Christmas
Author: Marianne Richmond
Genre: Children's fiction
Format: Kindle
No. of Pages: 40
Date of Publication: November 4, 2022

Description: A delightful holiday book from beloved author Marianne Richmond, Little Bird Finds Christmas reminds us all of what's really important during the holidays.

Back in their warm and cozy nest, Mama and Little Bird cuddled against the December chill.
"Want to know my favorite place to find Christmas?" said Mama.
"I do," said Little Bird.
"With you," Mama said.

An adorably sweet new Christmas story from a bestselling author whose books have become family classics, LITTLE BIRD FINDS CHRISTMAS is a delightful journey of finding Christmas wherever you are-in your heart.

My Thoughts: The premise behind this book is cute as it is about a little bird who goes to find Christmas as if it is an actual person. The little bird journeys through town and observes people going about typical traditional holiday traditions such as shopping post office, decorating, etc.

Mama bird eventually goes to show Little Bird where her favorite place is to find Christmas and this is where the story loses me because it takes a religious turn. The story shares the religious reason behind Christmas. I am not against a religious book by any means, however, the description did not indicate that this was a religious book. It is written as a children's book but I think that it should state that it has a religious component as every person has their own views and belief system and when they may want to instill religion on their children or not.

The images are great and have a very festive feeling to them.

Rating: 2 out of 5 because I wish I had known about the religious turn to the story in the book. I think transparency is important and I had thought this was strictly a children's Christmas book about the spirit of Christmas and being with family and friends and helping others.

Many thanks to Sourcebooks Kids and Netgalley for this review copy. This is my honest opinion.
